A reader asked me to comment on KFC so I have posted up its scorecard. This is because it’s one of the best blue chips on the KLSE with extremely steady, stable, earnings growth. The factors which affect its balance sheet are also easy to understand - cost management, inflation and health events like SARs can cause a significant blip in its balance sheet. However, once those factors quieten down, its share price always races back. So this is a good one to buy on dips for the long term.
The ratios found in the scorecard can and should be applied to any other counter you are looking at for comparison if you are unsure whether what you are looking at is a good buy or not.
With the bird flu news recently, the KFC share price is going to dip this week, treat this as a good chance to buy in.
