Whilst on holiday I took the opportunity to catch up with some reading. One of the books I read and recommend is this one. Although it does not talk that much about Malaysia, it does contain a useful and simple blueprint of the factors which are esential to an economically successful country and an evaluation of whether some countries are meeting or falling short of those measures. After providing a simple history of places like Europe, India, Russia, China and most notably Singapore, the book analyses what their governments are doing, where they are today, and where this is going to lead to in the future. Written by a Harvard professor, this book is very well written and provides plenty of food for thought.
